Y Garn (Rhinogydd)

Y Garn is a mountain peak located in the southern section of the Rhinogydd range within the Snowdonia National Park (Eryri) in Gwynedd, Wales. It reaches an elevation of 629 metres (2,064 feet) above sea level.

The mountain is classified as a Hewitt (Hill in England, Wales, and Ireland over Two Thousand feet) and a Nuttall. It is situated to the south of Diffwys, which is the highest point of the southern Rhinogydd. Y Garn stands above the Mawddach Estuary to the south and the village of Llanelltyd. To its east lies the Coed y Brenin forest.

The terrain of Y Garn is characteristic of the Rhinogydd, featuring rugged Cambrian manganese-bearing sedimentary rocks and heather moorland. The summit is marked by a stone cairn, reflecting the Welsh name "Y Garn," which translates to "The Cairn." Access to the peak is frequently gained via tracks from the south near Llanelltyd or from the mountain pass to the north.
