Xanthotryxus draco is a species of cluster fly in the family Polleniidae, within the order Diptera. It was first described by the American entomologist John Merton Aldrich in 1930.
Taxonomy
The species belongs to the genus Xanthotryxus, which comprises small to medium-sized flies distinguished from related genera (such as Pollenia) by bare parafacials, a broad facial keel, and dense deciduous curly pale hair on the thorax. The binomial name Xanthotryxus draco was published by Aldrich in a 1930 paper titled "New two-winged flies of the family Calliphoridae from China" in the Proceedings of the United States National Museum.

Description
