History

  • Concession and Early Years: XHSM‑FM received its broadcasting concession on 28 November 1988. The station initially aired a Spanish‑language contemporary format under the brand Estéreo Vida.
  • Mid‑2000s: Operation was transferred to Radio S.A., which relaunched the station as Máxima FM, featuring pop and rock music.
  • 2007–2009: Radiorama resumed control in late 2007, affiliating XHSM‑FM with the Los 40 Principales pop network. In May 2009 the station, along with other Radiorama outlets in Ciudad Obregón, was leased to Grupo Larsa Comunicaciones and rebranded Sin Límites, while retaining a pop format.
  • 2019: In August 2019 the station went silent when Larsa ceased operations in the market. Radiorama reclaimed direct operation in November 2019 and changed the format to grupera, adopting the La Poderosa branding that continues to the present.
