William Martin (Canadian politician)

William Martin (born c. 1828, died June 17, 1890) was a Canadian politician and merchant in the late 19th century. He represented Lincoln riding in the House of Commons of Canada from 1874 to 1878 as a Liberal member.

Born in Ireland, Martin immigrated to Canada West (later Ontario) and settled in the Niagara region. He established himself as a prominent merchant in Niagara Township.

In addition to his parliamentary service, Martin also served as a local official, holding the position of reeve of Niagara Township for a number of years. His election to the House of Commons reflected the shifting political landscape of the time and the growing influence of the Liberal party in Ontario.
