William Lee (born 1941) is a retired prelate of the Roman Catholic Church. He served as the Bishop of Waterford and Lismore in Ireland from 1993 to 2013.
Born in Newport, County Tipperary, Ireland, Lee was ordained to the priesthood in 1967. He served in various pastoral roles within the Archdiocese of Cashel and Emly before his appointment as bishop.
Lee's episcopate in Waterford and Lismore was marked by the ongoing challenges of addressing clerical sexual abuse within the diocese. He implemented policies and procedures aimed at safeguarding children and supporting victims. He also oversaw initiatives in areas such as pastoral care, education, and social justice.
He reached the mandatory retirement age for bishops of 75 in 2016, but his resignation was accepted by Pope Francis in 2013, due to health reasons. He was succeeded by Alphonsus Cullinan. Since his retirement, Lee has remained active in supporting various charitable and pastoral activities.
