William Lagesson (born October 23, 1999) is an American professional ice hockey defenseman. He currently plays for the Philadelphia Flyers of the National Hockey League (NHL). Lagesson was selected in the fourth round, 97th overall, by the Flyers in the 2018 NHL Entry Draft.
Early life and education
Lagesson was born in Saint Paul, Minnesota, U.S. He played junior hockey with the Fargo Force of the United States Hockey League (USHL) before committing to collegiate play.
College career
Lagesson attended the University of Minnesota Duluth, where he played three seasons (2017–2020) with the Bulldogs men's ice hockey program. During his tenure, he contributed to the team's 2018–19 NCAA National Championship victory.
Professional career
- Philadelphia Flyers: After completing his collegiate eligibility, Lagsson signed a two‑year, entry‑level contract with the Flyers on March 1 2020. He made his NHL debut on March 3 2021 against the New York Islanders.
