Will Compton (born June 30, 1990) is a former American football linebacker who played in the National Football League (NFL). He was selected by the Washington Redskins in the seventh round (231st overall) of the 2013 NFL Draft after playing college football at the University of Miami.
Early life and education
Compton was born in Indianapolis, Indiana, and attended Brownsburg High School, where he participated in football and track and field. He earned a scholarship to the University of Miami, playing for the Miami Hurricanes from 2008 to 2012. Over his collegiate career, he recorded 163 tackles, 2.5 sacks, and two interceptions.
Professional career
Washington Redskins / Washington Football Team (2013–2019)
- Drafted in 2013 (7th round).
- Began as a special teams contributor and backup linebacker.
- Became a starter in 2016, recording a career-high 90 combined tackles that season.
- Served as a team captain in the 2018 season.

Retirement
Compton announced his retirement from professional football on April 6, 2022, after nine seasons in the NFL.
Personal life
Compton is married to Brianna Compton, an entrepreneur and philanthropist. The couple has been involved in community service initiatives, including youth mentorship programs and charitable fundraising events. He has spoken publicly about the importance of mental health awareness for athletes.
