Warren Edward Davidson (born June 12, 1970) is an American politician and former U.S. Navy pilot who has served as the U.S. representative for Ohio's 8th congressional district since 2016. He is a member of the Republican Party.
Early life and education
Davidson was born in Lima, Ohio, and raised in the nearby community of Van Wert. He earned a Bachelor of Science degree in business administration from Ohio State University in 1992 and later obtained a Master of Business Administration from the University of Edinburgh’s Business School in 1997.
Military career
After graduating from Ohio State, Davidson entered the United States Navy, where he served as a naval flight officer. He flew the F/A‑18 Hornet and completed multiple deployments, attaining the rank of lieutenant commander before leaving active duty in 2004. He subsequently served in the Navy Reserve until 2013.
Business career
Following his military service, Davidson worked in the aerospace sector, holding leadership positions at Lockheed Martin and later founding a consulting firm focused on defense and aerospace technologies.
Political career
In 2016, Davidson won a special election to succeed former Representative John Boehner in Ohio's 8th district. He was reelected in 2018, 2020, and 2022. While in Congress, he has served on the Committee on Armed Services and the Committee on Education and the Workforce, among others. Davidson is known for advocating a pro‑business agenda, supporting defense spending, and promoting workforce development programs. He has also been an outspoken critic of the Affordable Care Act and has advocated for fiscal conservatism, including efforts to reduce federal spending.
