Walter C. McAvoy (1904 – July 26, 1996) was an American politician who served as a Republican member of the Pennsylvania House of Representatives.
Born in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, McAvoy embarked on a career in public service and state politics. He was first elected to the Pennsylvania House of Representatives in 1950, representing the 22nd legislative district of Philadelphia County. He served nine consecutive terms, from 1951 until his retirement in 1968.
During his nearly two decades in the state legislature, McAvoy was an active participant in legislative affairs, contributing to various committees and the development of state policy in Pennsylvania. He was known for his consistent representation of his constituents and his long-standing commitment to the Republican party within the state's political landscape.
McAvoy passed away in 1996 at the age of 91.
