Walls of Glass (album)

Walls of Glass is the debut solo studio album by American contemporary Christian musician Russ Taff, released in 1983. Following his departure from the gospel group The Imperials, Taff transitioned to a solo career with this project, which was released under the Myrrh Records label.

The album was produced by Bill Schnee and features a musical style that blends contemporary Christian music (CCM) with elements of rock, pop, and soul. This departure from the traditional choral and quartet arrangements of his previous work helped establish Taff as a prominent solo artist in the CCM industry during the 1980s.

The tracklist includes several notable songs, most significantly "We Will Stand," which became a staple in contemporary Christian radio and is frequently cited as one of Taff's signature tracks. Other songs on the album include "Walls of Glass," "Pure Holiness," and "Inside Look."

Musically, the album features contributions from high-profile session musicians of the era, including guitarist Dann Huff and keyboardist Robbie Buchanan. Walls of Glass was commercially successful within its genre and received critical acclaim for its production quality and Taff's vocal performance. It played a significant role in the evolution of the CCM genre toward more mainstream production standards.
