Włodzimierz Lubański (born 28 February 1947) is a Polish former professional footballer who played as a forward. He is widely regarded as one of the most prolific strikers in the history of Polish football and held the record as the youngest goalscorer for the Poland national team for several decades.
Early life and youth career
Lubański was born in Siemianowice Śląskie, Upper Silesia, Poland. He began playing football at a young age and joined the youth academy of Górnik Zabrze in 1959, where he progressed through the junior ranks.
Club career

Górnik Zabrze (1965–1975): Lubański made his senior debut for Górnik Zabrze in 1965. Over ten seasons he scored 155 goals in 247 league appearances, helping the club win six Polish Ekstraklasa titles (1965–66, 1966–67, 1967–68, 1970–71, 1971–72, 1973–74) and three Polish Cups (1968, 1970, 1972). He also contributed to Górnik’s notable runs in European competitions, including a semi‑final appearance in the 1970–71 European Cup Winners' Cup.

SC Bastia (1975–1978): In 1975 Lubański transferred to French club SC Bastia, competing in Ligue 1. He made 99 league appearances and scored 16 goals, aiding Bastia in reaching the 1978 UEFA Cup Final.
