Vostanik Marukhyan

Vostanik Zaveni Marukhyan (Armenian: Վոստանիկ Զավենի Մարուխյան; born 1946) is an Armenian politician and academic. A prominent member of the [[Armenian Revolutionary Federation]] (ARF, also known as Dashnaktsutyun), he has served multiple terms as a member of the [[National Assembly of Armenia]] and held significant academic leadership positions.

Biography and Career Born in 1946, Vostanik Marukhyan pursued his higher education at the [[Yerevan Polytechnic Institute]], specializing in engineering. He holds a Ph.D. in Technical Sciences and is a professor, with his academic work primarily focused on the fields of construction and civil engineering.

Marukhyan's political career is closely linked with the Armenian Revolutionary Federation, one of Armenia's historic political parties. He has been elected as a member of the [[National Assembly of Armenia]] on several occasions, contributing to legislative work, often focusing on areas such as education, science, urban development, and infrastructure.

In addition to his political engagement, Marukhyan is widely recognized for his long and impactful tenure as an academic leader. He served as the Rector of the [[National University of Architecture and Construction of Armenia]] (NUACA), formerly known as the Yerevan State University of Architecture and Construction, from 2006 until 2021. During his leadership, NUACA underwent various reforms and developments in its educational programs and scientific research, playing a key role in training professionals for Armenia's construction and urban planning sectors.

Marukhyan is recognized for his contributions to both the political and academic spheres in Armenia, demonstrating a career dedicated to public service and educational advancement.
