Vipolže is a village in the Municipality of Brda in the Littoral region of Slovenia, situated in the western part of the country near the border with Italy. It is a prominent settlement within the Goriška Brda wine region, an area celebrated for its viticulture and picturesque landscape.

Although its origins are believed to date back to the 11th or 12th century, possibly as a hunting lodge, the castle acquired its distinct Renaissance appearance during a major reconstruction in the 16th century, primarily under the ownership of the Coronini family. Over the centuries, the castle and the surrounding village were under the dominion of various noble families, playing a role in the region's social and political landscape. The village itself grew around the castle and its associated agricultural estates.
