Veeranna (film)

Veeranna is a 2005 Indian Tamil-language drama film directed by B. Kalanithi. The film stars Napoleon, Anamika, Preethi Varma, and Sheela in lead roles. It was written by P. Kalaimani, with a musical score composed by Soundaryan. The film was produced by G. N. Das, M. Nehru, and G. Ramadass under the banner G.N.D. Vision International, with cinematography by Rajarajan and editing by P. K. Mohan. It was released on 18 December 2005 and has a runtime of approximately 140 minutes.

Plot

The story centers on Mariappan (played by Napoleon), a faithful servant of Rajeshwari (Sheela), a wealthy woman who oppresses the villagers in various ways. Mariappan's son, Veeranna (also played by Napoleon), is an army officer who returns to his village and wishes to live peacefully. His relative Vennila (Anamika) loves him. One day, children fall ill after drinking river water contaminated by industrial waste from a factory. As a responsible citizen, Veeranna files a complaint against the company's owner, Rajeshwari. Additionally, Veeranna saves Rajeshwari's daughter Aishwarya (Preethi Varma) from drowning. Rajeshwari orders him to leave the village immediately, but he refuses and instead marries Aishwarya. The subsequent events form the central conflict of the narrative.
