Varun Chopra (born 1 February 1987) is a British former professional cricketer who played as a right-handed opening batsman. He represented Essex County Cricket Club and Warwickshire County Cricket Club in the English domestic circuit between 2006 and 2021.
Born in Barking, London, Chopra developed through the Essex youth system and made his first-class debut for the club in 2006. In 2010, he transferred to Warwickshire, where he became a key player in their top order. During his tenure at Warwickshire, he was a member of the squad that won the County Championship title in 2012 and served as the club's captain for the 2014 and 2015 seasons. He returned to Essex in 2016 and participated in their 2017 County Championship-winning season.
Chopra's representative career included captaining the England Under-19 team and making several appearances for the England Lions (the national second-tier team). Although he was a prolific run-scorer in the County Championship, he did not receive a senior international cap for the England national team. Over the course of his first-class career, he scored 10,892 runs, including 21 centuries. He officially announced his retirement from professional cricket in September 2021.
