Vall de Cardós (Catalan pronunciation: [ˈbaʎ ðe kaɾˈðos]) is a municipality and village in the province of Lleida, in the autonomous community of Catalonia, Spain. It belongs to the comarca of Pallars Sobirà. As of 2025, it has a population of 388 inhabitants (INE).
Geography
The municipality covers an area of approximately 56.2 km² (21.7 sq mi) and is situated at an altitude of 898 meters above sea level. It lies in the Pyrenees mountain range, within the valley of the Noguera de Cardós river. The area is part of the High Pyrenees Natural Park and is known for its mountainous landscapes, glacial lakes, and natural environment.
History
The municipality was created in the early 1970s through the merger of the former municipalities of Estahón and Ribera de Cardós.
