USV Elinkwijk

Foundation and early history
The club was founded on 25 September 1915. Its name reflects its status as a sports association (“Utrechtse Sportvereniging”) serving the Elinkwijk district.

Professional period (1955–1963)
Following the introduction of professional football in the Netherlands, USV Elinkwijk entered the professional leagues in 1955. The club competed in the Eerste Divisie (second tier) and, after relegation, the Tweede Divisie (third tier) until the end of the 1962‑63 season.

Return to amateur status
After the 1962‑63 season, USV Elinkwijk chose to discontinue its professional operations and re‑joined the amateur ranks of the Koninklijke Nederlandse Voetbalbond (KNVB). Since then the club has participated in the various amateur divisions of the Dutch football league system.
