Tyanna Smith

Tyanna Smith (born c. 2002) is an American collegiate basketball player. A highly-touted recruit, she gained prominence for her defensive prowess and athleticism as a forward/center in NCAA Division I women's basketball. She began her college career at Mississippi State University before transferring to the University of Louisville.

Early Life and High School Career

Smith attended Dr. Phillips High School in Orlando, Florida. During her high school career, she was recognized as a dominant force, particularly on the defensive end. She was a four-star recruit and ranked among the top players in her class nationally. Her senior year statistics and accolades drew significant attention from major college programs across the country.

College Career

Mississippi State (2020-2021)

Smith committed to Mississippi State University and played her freshman season with the Bulldogs during the 2020-2021 academic year. She quickly made an impact, appearing in all 19 games and starting 16. She averaged 7.3 points, 5.1 rebounds, and 2.1 blocks per game. Her 40 total blocks led the team and ranked among the top shot-blockers in the Southeastern Conference (SEC). For her impressive debut season, Smith was named to the SEC All-Freshman Team. Louisville (2021-Present)

In 2021, Smith transferred to the University of Louisville, joining the Cardinals program.
