Ty Winter (born 1978/1979) is an American politician and a member of the Republican Party. He serves as a state representative for Colorado House of Representatives District 47, a position he has held since January 9, 2023.
Background
Winter lives in Las Animas County, Colorado, and is a fourth-generation cattle rancher and business owner. From 2019 to 2022, he served as chairman of his county's Republican party organization.
Political Career
Winter represents District 47, which includes all of Baca, Bent, Crowley, Kiowa, Las Animas, Otero, and Prowers counties, as well as parts of Huerfano and Pueblo counties in southern Colorado. Key communities in the district include Pueblo West, Trinidad, Lamar, La Junta, and Rocky Ford.
In January 2024, Winter was elected assistant minority leader of the Colorado House Republicans. He briefly served as acting minority leader from September 15 to September 20, 2025.

- 2022: Winter won the general election with 64.82% of the vote, defeating his Democratic opponent.
- 2024: He ran unopposed in the Republican primary and won the general election with 58.64% of the vote.
- 2026: Winter is running for re-election and is on the ballot for the general election on November 3, 2026.
