Trupanea footei is a species of tephritid or fruit fly in the genus Trupanea of the family Tephritidae. It was described by Chilean entomologist Daniel Frías in 1985 as part of a study on new Neotropical tephritids. The species is endemic to Chile.

Distribution The species is known only from Chile (South America).
Description Trupanea footei was characterized using morphological features of adults, including wing patterns and genitalic structures, as well as immature stages. It was one of four novel species from Chile described in the same study.
