Description
Trosia acea is a species of moth belonging to the family Megalopygidae. As with other members of the genus, it is presumed to have the characteristic dense, hairy larval setae typical of flannel moths, although detailed morphological descriptions of the adult and immature stages are scarce in the literature.
Distribution
The species has been recorded in Colombia, South America. No additional range extensions have been documented in major lepidopteran databases.
Authority
The species was first described by the entomologist Walter Hopp in 1930.
