Trey Millard (born June 22, 1996) is an American former professional football player who played as a running back. He played college football for the University of Oklahoma Sooners, where he contributed to the team’s backfield from 2015 to 2017. Millard entered the National Football League (NFL) when he was selected by the Green Bay Packers in the seventh round (254th overall) of the 2018 NFL Draft.
Early life and education
Millard was raised in Gonzales, Louisiana. He attended St. Charles Catholic High School, where he played high school football and earned recognition as a four-star recruit. He committed to the University of Oklahoma to continue his football career.
College career
At Oklahoma, Millard served primarily as a backup running back behind Heisman Trophy winner Baker Mayfield’s teammate, gaining playing time in a rotational backfield. Over his collegiate career, he accumulated modest rushing yards and contributed on special teams. In his senior year (2017), he recorded 322 rushing yards and three touchdowns on 74 carries.
Professional career
Green Bay Packers
Millard signed a four-year rookie contract with the Packers after being drafted in 2018. He was released during final roster cuts on September 1, 2018, and subsequently signed to the Packers’ practice squad. He remained with the organization for the remainder of the 2018 season but did not appear in a regular‑season game.
Later affiliations
In January 2019, Millard signed a reserve/future contract with the Packers but was waived in August 2019. He later joined the practice squad of the Seattle Seahawks in September 2019, though his tenure was brief.
