Travis Harper

Travis Sebastian Harper (born April 16, 1981) is an American former professional baseball pitcher. He appeared in Major League Baseball (MLB) for the Minnesota Twins between 2006 and 2008.

Early life and amateur career
Harper was born in Cleburne, Texas. He attended Weatherford High School in Weatherford, Texas, where he played baseball as a pitcher. He later played collegiate baseball at McLennan Community College before being selected in the 25th round of the 2001 MLB draft by the Minnesota Twins.

Professional career

Minor leagues
After signing with the Twins, Harper began his professional career with the Rookie-level Elizabethton Twins in 2001. Over the next several seasons he progressed through the Twins’ minor‑league system, including stints with the Class A Quad Cities River Bandits, the Class A‑Advanced Fort Myers Miracle, the Double‑A New Britain Rock Cats, and the Triple‑A Rochester Red Wings.

Major leagues
Harper made his MLB debut on June 30, 2006, for the Minnesota Twins. He remained with the Twins through the 2008 season, compiling a career win–loss record of 6–8, an earned run average (ERA) of 5.45, and 82 strikeouts in 113.2 innings pitched. His final major‑league appearance occurred on August 23, 2008.

Later career
Following his tenure with the Twins, Harper continued to pitch in the minor leagues and independent baseball. He spent time with the Texas Rangers’ Triple‑A affiliate, the Oklahoma RedHawks, in 2009, and later played for teams in independent leagues such as the Atlantic League of Professional Baseball.
