The Transfiguration Cathedral (Russian: Спасо-Преображенский собор) is a Russian Orthodox cathedral located in Berdsk, Novosibirsk Oblast, Russia. It falls under the jurisdiction of the Novosibirsk Diocese of the Russian Orthodox Church.
Construction of the cathedral began in August 1992. The project was designed by the architect Pyotr Chernobrovtsev. The cathedral was built to serve the spiritual needs of Berdsk, a city that was largely relocated in the 1950s due to the flooding of its original site during the construction of the Novosibirsk Reservoir.
The building is a two-story stone structure with a traditional five-domed design and an attached bell tower. The architectural style draws on historical Russian Orthodox church traditions. The cathedral is divided into two main sections:
- The Lower Church: Consecrated in 1998 in honor of the Three Holy Hierarchs (Basil the Great, Gregory the Theologian, and John Chrysostom).
- The Upper Church: Consecrated in 2004 and dedicated to the Transfiguration of Jesus.
The cathedral's bells were cast in Yaroslavl and installed in 2005. As a prominent landmark in Berdsk, the cathedral serves as a center for regional religious life and houses a Sunday school and a library. It is located on Maxim Gorky Street.
