Tower City is a city located in the U.S. state of North Dakota, spanning both Cass and Barnes counties. As of the 2020 United States Census, the city had a population of 268, with a 2023 estimate of 275 residents.
History
The settlement was laid out in 1879 as a station on the Northern Pacific Railroad. It was named after Charlemagne Tower, a railroad official associated with the line. A post office has operated in Tower City since its founding year. The city was incorporated two years later, in 1881.
Geography
According to the United States Census Bureau, Tower City covers a total area of 2.049 square miles (5.31 km²), all of which is land. The city sits at an elevation of 1,171 feet (357 m) above sea level and lies at the coordinates 46°55′35″ N, 97°40′34″ W.

- 2000 Census: 252 residents, 107 households, and 75 families. Median household income was $31,607; per‑capita income was $15,652. Approximately 6.4 % of the population were below the poverty line.
