Tommerup

Tommerup is a town in central Denmark, located in Assens Municipality on the island of Funen, within the Region of Southern Denmark. As of 1 January 2026, its urban population was 1,573, with an urban area of 1.39 km² (0.54 sq mi). Its postal code is DK-5690 Tommerup, and its coordinates are 55°19′28″N 10°12′9″E.

Although Tommerup served as the municipal seat of the former Tommerup Municipality, it was the second largest town in that municipality, surpassed by Tommerup Stationsby. The town is situated amid rolling hills and forests, approximately 15 minutes from Odense by car. Historically, the area has ties to clay processing and flax cultivation.

Notable person: Karen Egdal (born 1978 in Tommerup), a Danish former swimmer who won two silver medals in the 50 m butterfly event at the European championships in 2000 and competed at the 1996 Summer Olympics.
