Tom Holloway (born 1980) is an Australian playwright and dramatist. He has written numerous stage works that have been produced both in Australia and internationally. Holloway’s notable plays include Beyond the Turning (2005), And Slowly Brought to Light (2007), The Bleeding Tree (2015), and The Winter At The Edge Of The World (2018).
Holloway’s work is frequently characterized by its exploration of contemporary social and political themes, often employing unconventional narrative structures and staging techniques. The Bleeding Tree won the Patrick White Playwrights' Award in 2015 and received critical acclaim for its portrayal of rural violence and gender dynamics.
In addition to playwriting, Hollowey has contributed to the development of new Australian theatre through involvement with workshops, residencies, and mentoring programs. His plays have been presented by major Australian theatre companies such as Griffin Theatre Company, Belvoir St Theatre, and the State Theatre Company of South Australia, as well as by international venues in the United Kingdom and United States.
