Tiskūnai

Tiskūnai is a village situated in the Kėdainiai District Municipality, within Kaunas County in central Lithuania. According to the 2011 national census, the settlement had a population of 427 inhabitants. The village lies approximately 8 kilometres (5 mi) north of the district centre Kėdainiai, on the left bank of the Nevėžis River near its tributary, the Žalesys, and adjacent to a small pond.

Historical background
Archaeological evidence, including an ancient stone axe, indicates prehistoric human presence in the area. The modern settlement developed significantly during the Soviet period, when it became the centre of the “Rised Sod” kolkhoz (collective farm). The village’s name was recorded in Russian as Тыскуны during that era.
