Tichá dohoda (Czech for "silent agreement" or "tacit agreement") was a Czech alternative rock band active from 1986 to 1999. The band was led by songwriter, guitarist, and producer Dan Šustr and lead vocalist Blanka Šrůmová.
Overview
The band was named after the Czech translation of The Arrangement, a book and film by Elia Kazan. They were known in the Czech pop music scene of the late 1990s for their outspoken attitudes toward sex and drugs. The band achieved eight hit songs in the Czech Republic and received several local Grammy award nominations.
Notable Achievements
In 1994, Tichá dohoda released UnplugGag, the first-ever Czech unplugged record. Their last album, Válcovna vkusu s.r.o., was released in 1998 under Sony Music, after which the band was dropped by the label. The group disbanded in 1999.
Reunion
In 2006, the band members reunited under the new name 2Wings.
