Three Warriors is a 1977 American drama film directed by Kieth Merrill, written by Sy Gomberg, and produced by Sy Gomberg and Saul Zaentz. The film stars Charles White-Eagle, McKee Redwing, Lois Red Elk, Randy Quaid, Christopher Lloyd, and Trey Wilson. It premiered at the Chicago International Film Festival in October 1977 and was released theatrically in the United States in February 1978 by United Artists.
Plot
The story follows a 13-year-old Native American boy named Michael (McKee Redwing), who has spent the past seven years living in a tough urban environment. He returns to the reservation to visit his aging grandfather (Charles White-Eagle). Having lost touch with his cultural heritage, Michael initially rejects his grandfather's traditional teachings. Over time, through shared experiences in the wilderness, he begins to reconnect with his Native American roots. Michael bonds with a horse his grandfather buys him, which he names "Three Warriors." When a group of horse rustlers steals the horse, Michael must apply the lessons he has learned from his grandfather to rescue it.
