Thomas Welsh (basketball)

Thomas Welsh (born February 3, 1996) is an American professional basketball player. He played college basketball for the UCLA Bruins.

Welsh, a 7-foot center, attended Loyola High School in Los Angeles, California, where he developed into a highly-rated recruit. He committed to UCLA and played for the Bruins from 2014 to 2018.

During his college career, Welsh was a consistent contributor for UCLA, known for his rebounding, shooting touch from the perimeter for a center, and overall basketball IQ. He earned All-Pac-12 honors multiple times, and finished his UCLA career as one of the program's all-time leading rebounders and three-point shooters for a center.

After graduating from UCLA, Welsh was selected by the Denver Nuggets with the 58th overall pick in the 2018 NBA draft. He played briefly for the Nuggets and their G League affiliate, the Capital City Go-Go. He has since played professionally overseas, including stints in Europe and Asia. His professional career has been marked by adapting to different team roles and demonstrating his versatile skillset.
