Thomas Lyle Martin Jr.

Thomas Lyle Martin Jr. (September 26 1921 – October 8 2009) was an American engineer and academic administrator who served as the president of the Illinois Institute of Technology (IIT) from 1974 to 1987.

Early life and education

  • Born in Memphis, Tennessee.
  • Earned a Bachelor of Science in electrical engineering from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute in 1942.
