Thingy was formed in the early 2000s by a collection of musicians with significant pedigrees in the punk rock scene. The initial lineup included Chad Price (vocals, from All and Drag the River), Karl Alvarez (bass, from Descendents and All), Stephen Egerton (guitar, from Descendents and All), and David Raun (drums, from Bad Religion and Dr. Know).
