The World of Quest

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The World of Quest (also known as Quest for the Missing Lords or simply Quest) is a Canadian animated television series created by Jason Kruse and produced by Cookie Jar Entertainment (now DHX Media, a subsidiary of WildBrain). The show first aired on Kids' WB in the United States and Teletoon in Canada in 2008, running for two seasons with a total of 26 episodes.

Synopsis

The series follows the adventures of Prince Nestor, a young and somewhat cowardly prince from the Kingdom of Odyssia, who is tasked with a crucial mission: to find and retrieve the "Lords of the Nexus." These four powerful magical artifacts were scattered across the land by the evil sorcerer Lord Spite, who kidnapped Nestor's parents, King and Queen. To aid him in his quest, Nestor is reluctantly accompanied by a powerful but often grumpy warrior named Quest, who is bound to protect the prince by a magical spell.

Characters

  • Quest: A formidable, muscular warrior with immense strength and fighting skills. He is initially very reluctant to help Prince Nestor and often expresses his disdain for the prince's lack of bravery. He carries a powerful magical sword that can transform into various tools. Quest's primary motivation is to break the magical bond that forces him to protect Nestor.
  • Prince Nestor: The young, somewhat naive, and often cowardly prince of Odyssia. Despite his initial shortcomings, Nestor possesses a good heart and gradually learns to be more courageous throughout his journey. His ultimate goal is to rescue his parents and restore peace to his kingdom.
  • Graer: A large, blue-furred griffin-like creature who serves as Quest's loyal and often dim-witted sidekick. He is incredibly strong but easily distracted and has an insatiable appetite.
  • Gatling: A brilliant but neurotic inventor and archer who is part human, part animal (a badger-like creature). She often provides the team with gadgets and strategic advice, though her inventions sometimes backfire.
  • Way: A magical, sentient map and book of knowledge that guides the team on their quest. Way is often sarcastic and provides exposition, clues, and warnings. Way is also capable of teleportation and other magical feats.
  • Lord Spite: The primary antagonist of the series. He is an evil sorcerer who seeks to conquer Odyssia and rule the land. He kidnaps Prince Nestor's parents and scatters the Lords of the Nexus to prevent anyone from stopping him.
  • General Ogun: Lord Spite's formidable second-in-command, a large, powerful warrior who often clashes directly with Quest.
  • Aggro and Spite's Minions: Various monstrous creatures and soldiers who serve Lord Spite and attempt to thwart Nestor's quest.

Setting

The series is set in the fantasy world of Odyssia, a diverse land filled with magical creatures, ancient ruins, treacherous landscapes, and various kingdoms. The Lords of the Nexus, when brought together, are said to restore balance and power to the rightful ruler of Odyssia.
