The Voice TV Sweden

The Voice TV Sweden, officially known as The Voice Sverige, is the Swedish adaptation of the international reality singing competition franchise ''The Voice''. The show originated from the Dutch series ''The Voice of Holland'', created by John de Mol.

Broadcast History

The Swedish version premiered on the commercial broadcaster TV4 on 14 January 2012. It ran for one single season, concluding on 20 April 2012. Unlike some other international adaptations, ''The Voice Sverige'' for adults did not achieve long-term success and was not renewed for a second season.

Format

The format of ''The Voice Sverige'' closely followed the standard structure of the international franchise, comprising four main competitive stages:

The Blind Auditions: Aspiring singers perform for a panel of four celebrity coaches who are seated with their backs to the stage, judging contestants solely on their vocal ability. If a coach likes what they hear, they press a button to turn their chair around, indicating their desire to mentor the contestant. If multiple coaches turn, the contestant chooses which coach's team they wish to join.

The Battle Rounds: Coaches pair two of their own team members to perform a duet. After the performance, the coach selects one contestant from the pair to advance to the next round.

The Knockouts: Remaining contestants perform individually, and coaches further reduce their teams by selecting specific members to advance to the live shows.

The Live Shows: The final contestants perform weekly, with public voting and coach decisions determining who advances. This stage culminates in a grand finale where a single winner is crowned.
