The Thirst (film)

The Thirst is a 2009 South Korean vampire horror film directed by Park Chan-wook. It stars Song Kang-ho as Sang-hyun, a Catholic priest who inadvertently becomes a vampire after contracting a deadly virus during a medical experiment in Africa. The film explores themes of faith, sin, love, and the nature of good and evil as Sang-hyun grapples with his newfound thirst for blood and his moral obligations. He becomes entangled in a passionate and dangerous relationship with Tae-ju, the unhappy wife of his childhood friend, Kang-woo. The Thirst is known for its graphic violence, sexual content, and complex characters. The film won the Jury Prize at the 2009 Cannes Film Festival.
