The Storm (1933 film)

The Storm is a 1933 American pre-Code Western film directed by William Wyler and starring Loretta Young and Henry Travers. The film is based on a play of the same name by Langdon McCormick.

The plot revolves around Burr Winton (Henry Travers), a kindly old prospector living in the remote Northwest wilderness with his adopted daughter, Marcia (Loretta Young). Their peaceful existence is disrupted by the arrival of Dave Warren (Paul Cavanagh), a charming but ultimately unscrupulous man who is searching for gold. Dave's presence creates tension and threatens the close bond between Burr and Marcia. A powerful storm further complicates matters, isolating the characters and forcing them to confront their feelings and desires. The film features themes of love, betrayal, and the power of nature.
