The Big Town is a 1925 American short silent comedy film, the 34th entry in the Our Gang series (also known as "Hal Roach's Rascals"). It was directed by Robert F. McGowan, produced by Hal Roach, and distributed by Pathé Exchange. The film was released on January 11, 1925, and has a running time of approximately 23 minutes and 26 seconds.
Plot
The gang is playing in a railyard when a fire breaks out. They hide inside a railroad boxcar, which closes and traps them. The next morning, they discover they have arrived in New York City. The children explore the city, visiting landmarks such as the Brooklyn Bridge and the Statue of Liberty. They take a sightseeing bus for a joyride but are eventually caught by the police. A police officer is assigned to escort the gang home by train. During the overnight journey, they scatter an entomologist's insect collection around the sleeper car and order exotic foods for breakfast. Upon arriving home, their mothers greet them with a spanking.
