The Amazing Gayl Pile is a Canadian web series created by Morgan Waters and Brooks Gray. The series follows the misguided quest of its protagonist, Gayl Pile, to conquer the world of home shopping and become the king of the TV pitchman game.
Premise
Gayl Pile (played by Morgan Waters) ekes out a living as a host on the Shop-At-Home Channel in Hamilton, Ontario, where he constantly plays second banana to product sellers hawking revolutionary gadgets, miracle remedies, and on-trend ladies' wear to television viewers at home.
Production and Release
The series premiered in 2014 on Sarah Silverman's online network Jash and was later available on NBC's now-defunct digital channel Seeso. It is currently available on CBC's digital platform, CBC Gem, and was produced with the participation of the Independent Production Fund. The fifth and final season, titled The Amazing Gayl Pile: Last Resort, is available on CBC Gem in Canada and Amazon Video Direct in the UK and USA.
