Thanks to the Saint is a collection of short stories by Leslie Charteris, first published in December 1957 by The Crime Club (an imprint of Doubleday & Company) in the United States, and by Hodder and Stoughton in the United Kingdom in 1958. It is the thirty-second book in the long-running series chronicling the adventures of the gentleman adventurer Simon Templar, known as "The Saint."

The book consists of six short stories:

  1. "The Bunco Artists"
  2. "The Happy Suicide"
  3. "The Good Medicine"
  4. "The Unescapable Word" (sic — the title is intentionally or erroneously ungrammatical)
  5. "The Perfect Sucker"
  6. "The Careful Terrorist"

Television Adaptations

All but one of the stories in this collection were adapted into episodes of the 1962–69 television series The Saint, starring Roger Moore:

  • "The Careful Terrorist" — aired as the third episode of the first season on 18 October 1962.
  • "The Bunco Artists" — aired during season two on 19 December 1963.
  • "The Good Medicine" — aired during season two on 6 February 1964.
  • "The Unescapable Word" — retitled to the more grammatically correct "The Inescapable Word" and aired on 28 January 1965 during season three.
  • "The Happy Suicide" — aired on 11 March 1965 during season three.
