Plot summary
Set primarily in Thrissur—known locally as the “Gold Capital of India”—the film follows two gold brokers, Muthu and Kannan, who travel from Kerala to Mumbai to transport a consignment of gold. During the journey Kannan disappears; his body is later discovered hanging from a ceiling fan in a hotel room, leading the police to suspect murder. The investigation, led by Inspector Jayant Sakhalkar, gradually reveals that Kannan orchestrated his own death with the assistance of friends Arul and Abbas in order to evade debts owed to gold‑trading creditors. The narrative explores themes of friendship, financial desperation, and the moral complexities surrounding suicide versus homicide.
