Tellison

Tellison is an English indie rock band formed in 2000 in Horsham, West Sussex. The group originally comprised vocalist and guitarist Stephen H. Smith, bassist Peter Phillips, and drummer Henry Danby; later line‑up changes introduced multi‑instrumentalist Andy James and guitarist/keyboardist Oliver Peta. Their musical style incorporates elements of melodic pop‑rock, post‑punk, and alternative rock, characterized by jangly guitar riffs, introspective lyrics, and harmonic vocal arrangements.

The band released its debut EP, Tellison (2004), through independent label Fierce Panda Records, followed by the EP The Wreckage (2005). Their first full‑length album, Contact! Contact!, was issued in 2007 on Banquet Records, receiving favorable reviews for its energetic composition and lyrical earnestness. After a period of limited activity, Tellison signed with Naim Edge and released their second studio album, The Wages of Fear, in 2011, which was noted for more polished production and expanded instrumentation.

Tellison's work has been featured on various radio platforms, including BBC Radio 1 and BBC Radio 6 Music, and the band has performed at notable venues and festivals throughout the United Kingdom. Their discography, as of 2023, consists of two studio albums, several EPs, and a collection of singles. The group is recognized within the British indie music scene for maintaining a consistent artistic presence despite lineup changes and periods of hiatus.
