Teige Morrell, also professionally known as Shadow, is an American heavy metal drummer. He is widely recognized for his work with several prominent bands in the metal scene, most notably Static-X and Dope.
Biography and Career
Morrell began his career in the heavy metal genre, developing a reputation for his powerful and aggressive drumming style. He has been involved with various bands throughout his career, often as a touring or session drummer before joining more permanent lineups.
- Dope (2013–present): Morrell joined the industrial metal band Dope in 2013, contributing to their sound with his distinctive drumming. He has toured extensively with the band and appeared on their studio releases.
- Static-X (2019–present): In 2019, Morrell joined Static-X as the touring and recording drummer, adopting the persona "Shadow." This role involves him performing anonymously, wearing a mask to honor the late frontman Wayne Static and maintain the band's iconic aesthetic. His involvement marked the band's return after a hiatus, celebrating the 20th anniversary of their debut album, Wisconsin Death Trip. He has contributed to subsequent Static-X albums, including Project Regeneration Vol. 1 and Project Regeneration Vol. 2.
