Tatiana Calderón

Tatiana Calderón (born 10 March 1993) is a Colombian professional racing driver. She has competed in various international motorsport series, including the FIA Formula 2 Championship, the FIA Formula 3 Championship, and the FIA World Endurance Championship. Calderón is notable for being one of the few South American women to reach the upper tiers of single‑seater racing and has served as a development driver for the Sauber Formula One team.

Early life and education
Born in Bogotá, Colombia, Calderón grew up in a family with a strong interest in motorsport. She began karting at the age of eight and quickly progressed through national karting championships. In 2009, she moved to Europe to further her racing career, enrolling in a driver development program and attending school in Spain while continuing her education through distance learning.

Racing career

  • Karting (2001–2009): Calderón achieved multiple podium finishes in Colombian and South American karting categories, establishing herself as a competitive young driver.
  • Formula Renault (2010–2013): She entered the Formula Renault 2.0 series in Europe, competing in the Eurocup and Northern European Cup. In 2012, she became the first Colombian woman to score points in the Eurocup Formula Renault 2.0.
  • GP3 Series (2016): Calderón made her debut in the GP3 Series with Arden International, becoming the first Latin American woman to race in the category. She completed the season with consistent finishes, though she did not score points.
  • FIA Formula 2 Championship (2018, 2020): Calderón participated in selected rounds with BWT Arden in 2018 and later with Charouz Racing System in 2020. While she did not achieve scoring positions, her involvement marked a significant milestone for female representation in the series.
  • FIA World Endurance Championship (2019–present): She joined the G-Drive Racing team for the LMP2 class, competing in the 24 Hours of Le Mans and other endurance events. Calderón earned points in the championship and contributed to the team's development work.
  • Formula One development driver (2018–2022): In July 2018, Calderón was appointed a development driver for the Sauber F1 Team (later Alfa Romeo Racing). Her duties included simulator work, promotional activities, and participation in testing sessions.
