Taroom Airport

Taroom Airport (IATA: XTO, ICAO: YTROM) is a regional aviation facility located in the state of Queensland, Australia. It is situated approximately 20 kilometers southeast of the town of Taroom and is owned and operated by the Banana Shire Council.

The airport primarily serves the local community and surrounding districts within the Banana Shire. It features a single sealed runway, designated 12/30, which measures approximately 1,142 meters (3,747 feet) in length. The facility is equipped with pilot-activated lighting to support night operations.

Taroom Airport does not currently maintain scheduled commercial passenger services. Its primary functions include facilitating general aviation, supporting charter flights for the agricultural and resource sectors, and providing a base for emergency services. It is a frequent transit point for the Royal Flying Doctor Service (RFDS) to conduct medical evacuations and provide healthcare access to the remote region. Infrastructure at the site is basic, focusing on runway maintenance and essential navigational aids required for regional flight operations.
