Overview
Born in 1975 in the Khyber Agency (now Khyber District) of the former Federally Administered Tribal Areas (FATA), Pakistan, Tahir Dawar joined the police service after graduating from the Police Academy. On 19 March 2021, while traveling on a highway in central Pakistan, Dawar was abducted by unidentified armed men. After a period of uncertainty, a video released by militants claimed responsibility for his killing. His body was recovered on 23 March 2021 in the Khyber District.
