Swamp Creek (Missouri)

Swamp Creek is a stream located in southeast Missouri, primarily in Stoddard County. It is a tributary of the Castor River. The creek's course generally flows in a southeastern direction through a relatively flat, swampy region, characteristics which contribute to its name. The surrounding area is largely agricultural, with bottomland farming prevalent. Swamp Creek serves as a drainage route for agricultural runoff and natural watershed for the area it traverses. The creek's hydrological characteristics are impacted by seasonal rainfall and agricultural practices in its drainage basin.
