Known under his stage name Sveppi, he is an Icelandic comedian, actor, and writer. He was born on 5 August 1977 in Reykjavík, Iceland. He began his career on the television show 70 mínútur on Popp TV in 2001. He is widely recognized in Iceland for his work in children's entertainment, including the Algjör Sveppi film series. His filmography includes The Big Rescue (2009), The Secret Spell (2010), The Magic Wardrobe (2011), The Biggest Rescue (2014), Cop Secret (2021), and voice roles in Icelandic dubs of animated films such as Sing 2 and The Bad Guys.
2. Sverrir Þór Sverrisson (basketball player and coach, born 1975)
Born 23 May 1975 in Reykjanesbær, Iceland, he is a former professional basketball player and coach. Standing 187 cm (6 ft 2 in), he played in the Icelandic top-tier league from 1994 to 2016, winning three national championships (2003–2005) and two Icelandic Basketball Cups (2003, 2004). He was a two-time Úrvalsdeild Defensive Player of the Year (2003, 2004). As a coach, he led teams to multiple national championships in both the men's and women's divisions, including the Icelandic women's championship four times and the men's championship once. He also served as head coach of the Icelandic women's national basketball team from 2012 to 2014, leading them to a silver medal at the 2013 Games of the Small States of Europe. He retired from coaching in 2024.
