The Strumica (Macedonian: Струмица) is a river in the southeastern part of North Macedonia and southwestern Bulgaria. It is a left tributary of the Struma River.
Location
The Strumica River flows primarily through the Strumica Valley in North Macedonia and then crosses into Bulgaria before joining the Struma.
Course
The river originates on the southern slopes of Plačkovica Mountain, near the Radoviš area in North Macedonia. It flows generally southeastward through the fertile Strumica Valley, passing by the city of Strumica, which is named after the river. After passing Strumica, it continues eastward, crossing the border into Bulgaria. In Bulgaria, it is known as Strumeshnitsa (Bulgarian: Струмешница) and flows for a short distance before merging with the Struma River near the village of Mitino, Petrich Municipality.

- Basin Area: Its drainage basin covers about 1,895 km² (732 sq mi).
