Straight Lines was a Welsh alternative rock band formed in Pontypridd, Wales. The band was primarily active from 2006 until their hiatus in 2015, with subsequent reunion performances.
History Formed in Pontypridd, Straight Lines quickly established themselves within the UK's alternative music scene. They gained recognition for their dynamic live shows and a musical style that combined elements of alternative rock and post-hardcore.
Their debut album, Freaks Like Us, was released in 2011 and received favorable reviews. The album included notable tracks such as "Runaway" and "Flat Line." Following its release, the band embarked on extensive tours, performing headline shows and supporting a variety of larger acts across the United Kingdom and Europe.
In 2013, Straight Lines released their second album, Change the Station. This record further evolved their sound and reinforced their standing within the genre. Despite a dedicated fanbase and critical appreciation, the band announced an indefinite hiatus in 2015, concluding their most active period. They have since performed occasional reunion shows.
